AMS Industries, Inc. is a Mechanical contracting firm serving the commercial, industrial, refrigeration and nuclear industries (PMT). With over 60 years of existence, AMS has grown from a small refrigeration contractor with a few employees to a multi discipline and multi market MEP contractor with more than 500 employees. AMS Industries is currently accepting resumes for our 10-week Summer Internship Program, with opportunities available across multiple divisions and locations, including our Woodridge, IL headquarters, Bolingbrook, IL office, Highland, IN office, and various project jobsites. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience through a combination of office-based and field project work. Depending on your skills and interests, you will contribute to meaningful projects that expose you to both the technical and practical aspects of the mechanical construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Engineering staff to support construction projects.
- Apply classroom training and knowledge to develop an understanding of Mechanical Systems, using your developing skill set to support design, build, and installation processes.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team on Design-Build projects to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Assist in managing project documentation and plans.
- Partner with estimating, design, and Project Management teams to gain exposure to the full spectrum of the mechanical construction process.
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least 2 years in an accredited Engineering program (Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, or Electrical).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Mathematical reasoning and attention to detail.
- Ability to work full-time (40+ hours per week) during the 10-week summer program.
