Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process weekly multi-state union and non-union payroll.
- Process layoff checks.
- Process new hire paperwork/updating employee records while keeping strict confidentiality.
- Coordinate with field superintendents and employees to assure accuracy and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Assist with expense and Per diem reimbursement.
- Monthly union reporting and maintenance of union files as needed for rate and benefit changes.
- Prepare and maintain various statistical reports.
- Certified Payroll, governmental & OCIP/CCIP insurance reporting
- Assist with quarterly payroll tax filings, W-2’s preparation, and year end processing.
- Assist with union audits.
- Additional tasks as required by the role.
Qualifications:
- Construction industry experience is preferred.
- High School diploma, GED, associate’s degree, or equivalent experience.
- A positive disposition with an ability to work in teams.
- An eagerness to learn and grow in the position.
- Self-motivation with a desire to assume more responsibility.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel and Word.
