HVAC/R Service Technician

Out of our beautiful Woodridge, IL facility, you'll report to the HVAC/R General Manager and own maintenance, repairs, retrofit projects, troubleshooting, and customer and account management, joining 1,000+ employees backed by the same extensive safety culture that defines how AMS does business.
The Role
As an HVAC/R Service Technician at AMS, you're the steady hand industrial and commercial clients count on. Out of our beautiful Woodridge, IL facility, reporting to the HVAC/R General Manager, you'll provide HVAC/R service, repair, and maintenance support to office buildings, multifamily residential high rises, process and manufacturing facilities, healthcare, education, and retail facilities.
You'll perform both routine and emergency service, drawing on journeyman-level skill to manage everything that comes with the job: paperwork, documentation, customer relations, communication, repair and PM schedules, and on-call duties as required. What You'll Own
- Responsible for HVAC/R service, repair and maintenance support to office buildings, multifamily residential high rises, process/manufacturing, healthcare, education and retail facilities.
- Perform routine and emergency service.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities as a journeyman service technician including paperwork, documentation, customer relations, communication, repair and PM schedules.
- Participate with on-call duties as required.
What You Bring
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience and working knowledge of commercial ventilation systems, unitary systems, heating systems, and controls.
- Clean driving record.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education programs.
- Freon-based refrigeration background.
- Completion of UA-597 apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Prior safety training, such as OSHA 30, fall protection, or arc blast.
