Electrical Estimator

Located at our Woodridge, IL facility and reporting to the Vice President of Client Services, the Electrical Estimator will analyze bid packages, create job cost estimates, and write scope letters for our Electrical Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Quantify project components.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the project scope and phasing utilizing the project plans and specifications.
  • Ability to complete organized and detailed electrical takeoffs comprised of both labor and material.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the scope of work to field personnel through “kick off meetings” with project management and field staff personnel.
  • Identifying constructability issues through the estimating process.
  • Solicit sub-contractor and supplier pricing on bid packages.
  • Prepare and/or deliver the bid package – including ability to write a scope letter
  • Follow Up on submitted bid packages.
  • Able to work on multiple projects and maintain contact with field personnel to handle questions, change orders, and technically related issues.
  • Ensure all working documents and data is maintained to back up estimates.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and services for our type of work.
  • Efficiently read blueprints and understand industry pricing.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

    • College degree or relevant trade experience preferably in electrical or other construction/engineering fields
    • Familiarity with Accubid preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
    • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong multi-tasking skills.
    • Strong Math Skills.
    • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality.
    • Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive.

Compensation:

    • $60,000 – $120,000 annually
