The Role


As an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician at AMS, you're the hands-on expertise that keeps critical systems running for our industrial clients. You provide refrigeration repair and maintenance support to accounts in the food and beverage, refrigerated storage, pharmaceutical, and process industries, where downtime isn't an option.

You'll perform both routine and emergency service in industrial applications, drawing on journeyman-level skill to manage everything that comes with the job: paperwork, documentation, customer relations, communication, and repair and PM schedules. It's a role that demands you juggle multiple priorities while keeping every system you touch operating safely and reliably.

Safety isn't a checkbox, you'll demonstrate a clear understanding of and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements on every job. You're comfortable working unsupervised or with limited supervision, trusted to represent AMS in the field. What You'll Own


  • Responsible for refrigeration repair and maintenance support to industrial accounts in the food and beverage, refrigerated storage, pharmaceutical, and process industries.
  • Perform routine and emergency service in industrial applications.
  • Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities as a journeyman service technician including paperwork, documentation, customer relations, communication, repair and PM schedules.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or with limited supervision as a service technician.

What You Bring


  • Work experience in refrigeration service, preferably ammonia refrigeration systems. Will train the right candidate.
  • Experience and working knowledge of commercial ventilation systems, unitary systems, heating systems, and controls.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education programs.
  • Freon-based refrigeration background.
  • Completion of UA-597 apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Prior safety training, such as OSHA 30, fall protection, or arc blast.
