We take great pleasure in announcing our participation in an innovative new construction project: a state-of-the-art K-8 Public Charter School. This impressive structure, situated on Chicago’s Southwest side, spans across two floors, encompassing a remarkable 70,000 square feet. It has been meticulously designed to prioritize sustainability and the cultivation of a distinctive learning environment that empowers students for real-world success.
At the core of our involvement in this project is the implementation of an energy-efficient HVAC system. Our team feels immense pride in integrating a multitude of sustainable elements, including a 50-well geothermal field, a heat recovery chiller, three custom dedicated outside air units, and the installation of over 90,000 feet of radiant tubing within the slab. These components not only showcase our commitment to environmental responsibility but also guarantee a comfortable and supportive environment for the development of young minds.
Throughout this endeavor, we skillfully and adeptly addressed significant challenges. To boost onsite efficiency, we crafted a 25’ black iron riser as a single section in our advanced fabrication shop. Upon delivery to the construction site, it seamlessly integrated into its designated location, underscoring our precision and expertise. A swift crane operation spared us days of onsite welding during winter conditions.
